I'm sure that Dixon's work provides you with a nuanced distinction. However,to somehow link
it to my words is a stretch.

My intent was simply to help JR with a resource that's been helpful to me in similar circumstances, thereby attempting to remain focused on the topic.

So it's unclear to me how citing a work that differentiates between "autocratic" and "authoritarian" leadership practices, using as support for its premise some of the exemplars you mentioned, constitutes a "stretch". Confused

Scott,

As you like, however, this has become an unfruitful conversation.

Nero (if that really is your name)

You are of course entitled to your opinion, opaque as your reasons for it remain to me.

Apart from attracting 500+ views so far, I would suggest that the test of a "fruitful conversation" is whether anything written here has actually helped JR in reflecting on how to adapt a stated preference for an autocratic leadership style to meet new circumstances.

How about it, JR?

Regards

Scott

Scott,

Our 500+ colleagues will as usual form their own opinions. JR will draw judgements
and conclusions. Scott, Good Luck.
