Being part of the Gen Y audience my business organization tries to get us more involved. Currently we are trying to build a new web site so the CEO held a meeting with all Gen Y employees to brainstorm ideas on how to cater the site to our generation.
Also, in my department we started using Skype which is a free downloadable program where you can instant message one another. At first, it was a distraction, but I found it really helpful in asking questions when I needed to. The best part is you get an instant reply.
Little things like these that get us involved helps a lot. Especially since our generation is a little more "computer literate," anything that allows us to use those skills makes the job a lot more interesting.
Make the work interactive like their technology, and group oriented, like their social preference
Communicate the civic side of your company
At times, this group responds well to a veteran due to similar values in their work
One other thing we have done is to ask them to be the technology "go to people" for some simple help with software, cell phone, Palm, issues. They LOVE being called on to help.
