Our company was acquired three years ago and we still have some people “stuck” in the past. Until they let go they will not be able to accept the new future, which has wonderful possibility.

I was thinking of doing a burning bowl ceremony but was curious what else was out there. Not sure if that is too "touchy feely" for this group which is manager, director and VP level.

Any ideas?

Colleague, after three years I am afraid they wish to remain in the past for whatever reason makes sense to them. Has anyone spoken to them?

That is a great question. It's been "danced around" for too long and has never been formally addressed. Now is the perfect timing, which is why I am looking for a symbolic way to get them past it.

Hi: For some people is hard to change. I don't think that kind of activity will help. Letting go is a grief process, for some it will be fast for others no. They need to understand what is going on and what is in the future for them. You do not give details,so here is an idea with the info you provide... someone needs to seat and talk to them...I'll recommend one at a time and check what is going on and provide guidance about the new possibilities and support for the transition. Change is a scary thing for some people, because you need to challenge the status quo and move to the land of the unknown...

JTKeefer, I don't know what position you hold or what type of legal or economic particulars are involved. However, someone at the highest level should have had a serious conversation with these people about the future already.
