I have a chance to partner with a company to build out a leadership and sales program. I have no clue what to charge to develop a one-day program or what to charge to facilitate it. I would love some suggestions. Is there a standard rate for training consultants?
First, you might want to use the search function to find answers to this frequently asked question.
Second, it depends on your experience doing the kind of work you'd be doing. OK, not really. It depends on what you can negotiate with the client. Experience is only one factor.
It does seem that rates today are lower than they were a year or two ago.

Fees have a wide range -- anywhere from $250 per day to several thousand per day. It depends on your experience, the market you are in, the value you bring to the project, what your competitiors are charging, what you can negotiate with the client, AND you should also consider what you need to make a day. I am a consultant and arrived at my fees by figuring out what I need to make annually, thinking about how many days I could sell a year, and figuring out a reasonable daily rate that would help me earn what I needed annually.
To expand on Mark's excellent suggestion, you may want to plug in your numbers at the FreelanceSwitch Hourly Rate Calculator. Naturally, you should also do your research on your market and competitors to make sure that you aren't over- or undercharging.
Best of luck!
