We are in the process of implementing a new LMS. My manager has asked me to draft some SOPs:
Learner Instructor Manager Administrator to document how each role will "use" the LMS. Does anybody have any examples they can share? Thanks! |

I cannot send you a doc, but here are some things you need to ponder when drafting the SOPs:
* What is the learning culture of the organization? How can this be reflected in the SOPs? * Will all courses generate tracking information, or are some informational and tracking will not be necessary? What rules need to be created to guide practice? * How will the ISD staff design courses to leverage the LMS capabilities? * If a course requires instructors to mark a course completed/passed how much time do they have to complete data entry? There is more to consider, but I think this will get you going. There are many good books on best practices for online education--assuming that your company is using instructor lead online education (either asynchronous or synchronous) that should become part of your instructor training/certification. Since this is sounds like your first LMS, please, PLEASE, do not fall into the trap that what worked in an instructor lead class will work in an online class. Also, to actually be able to provide input that is relevant, the community would need to know what the LMS is, what features are you using, what modalities are being used for course delivery, etc... |

SOP's is a bit generic. Are you referring to how they will execute their roles?
