I have been selected for my very first speaking gig. I am so passionite about all I do, I am scared I cannot stay focused on what I need to do. Basically I have an open forum, I am getting my "dream". I have 3 90 minutes presentations that should be identical. My question is, HOW DO YOU KEEP THEM COMING BACK FOR MORE? I have to instruct trainers on building programs "my passion" - but I want to tell them everything.. I really need quidance!!!

One thing you could do to make sure you stay focused is to try out your presentation on as many people as you can get to listen to you, and get their feedback. Then fine-tune it and practice, practice, and practice. You might even want to hire a coach. Also, a lot has been written about how to make great presentations. Perhaps reading some of that material as you prepare your pitch will help keep you focused. Since you are passionate about what you do, I don't think you need to worry about it. You'll do great.

Another suggestion is to tape yourself giving the presentation and then watch it and give yourself feedback. You can see if as a "participant" it would be interesting and engaging. You can also tweak any of the content if you are unhappy with it at this point.
You can also reference this if you need to add anything you might have forgotten.
I'm with KaliKo, if you are passionate about the content you'll have no problem!
Best of luck!

hi, Hopefully this posting isn't too late. I use to work for a global training company and here are a few things I would suggest you do:

1- everyone loves time tested tips and helpful shortcuts that only experienced folks can pass on. (are there any templates or tools you can give them?)

2- Talk about any obstacles they may encounter and how to overcome them.

3- Give them time to work on their own project throughout the session (say, in small groups) so they leave with an "personal action plan."

4 - In the beginning, ask them what they would like to leave knowing and write it on a flipchart. Tell them you will attempt to answer these questions by the end of the preso. Often, they get answered throughout the session.

Finally, call/email some of your audience members in advance to get to know them and thier needs. See if you see a trend in their needs and build it into your presention.

Hope that helps and that I'm not too late.
