Please help! I have my first interview in a few days at a large healthcare system/teaching hospital in the Eastern U.S. for an instructor-led training position. I will be asked to provide a training demo. At the interview, I will be given a list of topics to choose from, have 5 minutes to prepare, and have 5 minutes to deliver the training.
I am a junior-level trainer, thus I look to the wise and experienced trainers and training consultants on this board. If you were the hiring manager, what would you most want to see a candidate effectively demonstrate in this demo that would put the candidate at the top of the list? Thank you for your time and advice! P4L |

Well, there is no way on earth you will complete a training demo in 5-minutes! I would be looking at your approach. What assumptions did you make, how did you validate them, how did you approach the front end analysis, how did you define the audience, how did you determine the as-is vs to-be state, etc. Then I would sit back and watch your delivery to see how articulate you are, and your stage presence.

Thank you, Dave! I will take your advice.
Q: Should statements about my assumptions be shared at the beginning of my demo? Or should I just make them internally and proceed? Thx! P4L |

You will want to share them as you go along, articulate your thinking process.

Great idea, thanks!
