Babzie, If you need a funny sales training cartoon to kick off your session, you have my permission to use any of our cartoons on the following site Funny Sales Cartoons. There are also some good ideas around sales training reinforcement at other areas in the site. Enjoy! Eric

Any salesperson worth his/her salt should be CONSTANTLY researching the marketplace. This isn't a training issue - it's an expectations and accountability issue. So, in that respect, yes -- it's a sales department issue. If there were some skill lacking that would help them...such as the ability to use the internet or read the business section of the newspaper or a business magazine, for example... then that could be a training thing.

I was actually going to suggest what your upper management has already suggested. You could use the SMEs from the Sales team, hire a contractor, and put together some webinars that will be a win-win for everyone. Good luck

It is highly unlikely that your top sales people are also experienced instructional designers and learning facilitators. Why, then, would one use them to create webinars and teach them?

Hi Babzie,
Many companies are moving towards using webinars as an option for training, and also as a way to save training costs (travel, etc.). As L2G mentioned, hiring an experienced webinar developer/instructional designer and working closely with your Sales/Product SMEs, you will be on your way to creating an outstanding webinar training program!
