I too would like to hear from others as to the usefulness of this template. My own impression is that it provides only an outline of some of the things that might go into a facilitator's guide. I would not call it a true template. To me a template is a form that one can literally type the information into - completely automated. This is not one.

If you want a template that is literally automatic, get a word processor to develop one for you. Any good word processor can do this very easily. There are many good examples of facilitator's guides that you can use as a model to give to the word processor to automate for you. Try one of the ASTD bookstore's facilitator's guides to use as your model. That way you can't go wrong. Your facilitator's guide is sure to be complete and easy to use.

Coming in late here... I'd like to understand what, specifically, people want to get from their facilitator guides so I can understand what seems to be some sort of mystery around what a template would contain that would render anyone incapable of quickly creating one in Word.

I hope people are realizing that a template is only a tool in which one can put one's information. As someone else said in another thread -- GIGO. The tool is only as good as what goes into it. Access makes creating a database easier, but if you don't know anything about database structure, design, development, testing, administration, etc., it really doesn't matter how great the tool is.

This is nothing NOTHING personal or against using a template or sharing a template. It's just a concern for how people are using it.
