I use a worksheet in my Train the Trainer course where the trainees determine what style they are (Visual, Audio, Kinesthetic). I am looking for a similar worksheet/quiz that I could use as the one I have is fairly intense. Does anyone know where I can find a simple quiz to determine learning style?

Hi Bravo,

I am in the process of reading Facilitation Basics, the authors (McCain & Tobey) make great suggestions as to how to meet the need of your learners, here are the suggestions from pages 82-83:

1.“Use techniques that appeal to at least two of the three learning preferences in every activity”.

2.“By transitioning to a new topic or activity (or both) often by changing the type of activity, you’ll hit different combinations of preferences and styles throughout the course”.

Although your question was regarding a questionnaire to help you determine what type of learns you have in the class, I thought the aforementioned might be of use to you.

Instead of a questionnaire, perhaps reviewing the course outline / content to ensure that you are meeting the needs of those who learn visually, auditory, or kinesthetic.

Just sharing my thoughts.

Thank you for your guidance. I agree that having muliple types of activities hopefully will address all the learners styles.

I do a Train The OJT Trainer course with mostly male learners. They thought the learning style quiz I had was interesting, just thought I would look for a simpler one.

Your response does prompt me to make sure I have a variety of activities built into my class.

Hi again,

Umm… I have to look into the learning style quizzes out there. Just out of curiosity, how long does it take for them to complete the quiz and how long would it take for the debriefing? Would you incorporate this exercise into your introductions?

My questions are truly so that I can understand how this is done.

Thanks,
