Isn't information mapping just another term for elements of Instructional Design? I've seen this listed as a skill in job postings recently. What do you know about "information mapping"?

Thank you.

We use Info Mapping at our company. It is actually a program (at least what we use here) that works with MS word and formats our materials to make it very easy for learners to use/reference the materials. There is a methodology behind the set up of the materials and there are classes offered that go over that. You can google it using infomap. There is a lot of infomormation on it there. I believe this is what is meant by those postings. Understanding how to use that software.

It's a method of analyzing and presenting content. Technical writers [should] use this method. You don't need to use their software.
