We are looking to create formal training plans for 2009 for our employees. This would document training courses and certifications they are to pursue. Is anyone aware of an employee training plan template out there? Thanks.

I don't have a template, just actual work that I have done over the past 5+ years. PM me if you want more information. |

That's typically part of an overall professional development plan. Google development plan template. There's loads of that stuff for free on the internet.
Remember - a template is just a tool. Doesn't really matter what tool you end up using if there's no support, accountability, responsibility, management...yada yada...feeling like a broken record, but had to say it...yada yada. Good luck. |

Just to reinforce the comment from LL above:
A simple table with the following column headings can be used quite successfully (if it's used as a tracking mechanism to support accountability): Skill Area - what competency is in need of development Development Activity - could be training, or OTJ observation, coaching, etc. Target date for completion - when will it be done? Evidence of Application - how will we know you've applied it? Hope this is helpful. Doug H. |
