We are looking for consensus about enumeration presentation. Do you indent the enumeration under the paragraph or not? Example below.

This is the main paragraph.
* Line 1
* Line 2
* Line 3

---- or ----
This is the main paragraph.
__* Line 1
__* Line 2
__* Line 3

How about when describing a process such as "to start a car, do the following:"
1. Open the door.
2. Insert the key.
3. Turn the key

---or ---
"to start a car, do the following:"
__1. Open the door.
__2. Insert the key.
__3. Turn the key

Differences of opinion and nothing in the style guide. Thanks for your assistance

Often, it's a question of helping someone quickly direct his/her eyes to the important part of what you're presenting in the list, so most people indent under the lead-in paragraph. I do not think there are any hard fast rules about it.
