Does anyone have experience using the experiential learning activity called "Bafa Bafa"? If so, what can you tell me about it.

Thank you!
Mikel

Hi Mikel -- Conceptually, I like anything that makes use of putting people in the moment in order to learn, so I really liked that side of it. The issue I have with this (and any cultural/diversity "training" activity) is that it falls short in taking into account that people are not complete morons --- it assumes that surely we must all be chock full of prejudices; that we cannot possibly already accept and understand that everyone is unique. In short - it's patronizing.

It also continues the whole "let's pigeon-hole people by their country of origin" thing, even though it seeks to break down those barriers... Of course, this is just my opinion of my experience with it.

If you have to cover this type of material, this is a great way to do it. At least it's entertaining.
