Does anyone have any links to stats on the use of ILT vs. eLearning (or even anecdotal evidence)? I haven't been able to find anything recent via search. Last time I saw it was still majority ILT, but I am curious if that has changed industrywide.
I know that my company is still 95% ILT with just a few CBTs scattered here and there. Thanks for any information.
dragon -- depends entirely on where you look. I mean look at universities now. Nearly all curriculum is available via online classes. (Doesn't make it good or bad or otherwise -- just that it's there.) In the government and public corporate worlds...it varies all over the place.
Overall, I still don't understand any search for any type of information comparing them this way. The mode of delivery should be appropriate for what needs to be accomplished...by the learner, by the company.... I would very much like to understand why such stats help anything in particular. Whether there's more or less of one or the other...what does that prove or disprove?

Doesn't ASTD have these stats? Check out their State of the Industry Reports. Or contact their research dept. directly and ask them - if they don't have it, they will get it for you.
Thanks for the responses. I will go back and review those docs again to see if I missed any recent data.
As for why it matters, for a given learning experience you are exactly right - it should be appropriate for the desired outcomes. In aggregate though the trend of these numbers over time provides useful planning information.
