"Boring" is a subjective term. How much interest do you think the general populace has in "Creating Effective Learning through Blended Learning Modalities"? If I weren't an ISD, I would have hanged myself long ago instead of having to sit through programs like that.

But when we understand why it's relevant, when the content is built around the learner's level of knowledge and application, and we have a student-centered active learning lesson plan that accentuates applying new knowledge, skills, and abilities, that plus a good sense of humor, will go a long way.

Post the topic, and let the community have a stab at it, if you've got "trainer's block".

If this is a real issue for users, you can make them experience it, and show them how to resolve it (WIIFM- make my work better and my life easier)- it may not be the sexiest training, but should be valued.

Without details, it's a bit ethereal, but I am assuming you have a real problem being solved by presenting this information. Create that problem, toss them into the deep end of the pool- make 'em sweat, get blood boiling... now that they are anxious, they might be very eager to figure out how to do it so they don't sweat next time.

In my so humble opinion, no topic is boring. It's the presentation of the topic that can be boring at times. So, if the presenter goes into the training event excited and armed with WIIFM, the enthusiasm should spread to the learners. Fake it until you feel it!
