Hmm...you are right about that and that's what keeps niggling when one designs a course,am I doing the right things?

That's where stuff like podcasts,voice hreads and wikis can help I suppose.But then as you rightly said :

Good, sound learner-focused instructional design comes first. Appropriate delivery modes come after that. And e-learning can offer only a certain level of proficiency in any case. Acknowledge the limitations of the delivery medium and move on.
