My company is redesigning our training manuals for our software.
We'd like to look at what other companies are doing. Does anyone
have any software training manuals that they use in a classroom
(instructor led) setting? If so, would it be possible for me to get
one maybe as a PDF? I may not necessarily need the entire book, one
complete unit would be useable.

We want to compare our current student manuals with the ones we get,
to see what we should consider changing. Any other supporting
materials would be great as well (powerpoints, instructor guide,
training aides).

I will make sure that these will only be used for the purpose I
mentioned. I can also give them back to you or destroy them when we
complete our comparison, if needed.

Please let me know on or before 12/27. Reply to me offline at loren.elks@digitalhorizonstudios.com .

Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,

L.Elks

Are you actually referring to what is really an end user manual with canned exercises (click this, choose that)? Would you like a way to save a WHOLE LOT of time and money and trees?

I'm referring to a software manual for an Instructor Led Course which students would refer to in the classroom. I'm not referring to a end user documentation manual (where an instructor is not required), nor a self-paced book or elearning.

I'm sorry - I know what you're talking about. I guess I'm making my point in a round about way. The bottom line is -- do you want to improve the learner's experience in the class room and save time and money or are you attached to the idea of having that manual?

(If people are in a classroom together with a facilitator and the computers on which to learn and practice, why do you need a manual?...that's a rhetorical question)

OK, FF, I'll bite. What are you suggesting?

I use printed manuals for a number of reasons which I will share, but I'd like to hear your alternative first. I've worked on a few alternatives to printed manuals, but they have not yet been usable for many courses I teach.
