I am looking for Business Simulation vendors to create a Sim for my organization. I'd like any referrals on companies you have used to do this type of work.

MAW... I worked for Michelin North America for 27 years (the last few as a NA Training/Development Manager). During my employment, Michelin struggled for the first 20 years to turn a profit. In the early-mid 90s, Michelin's debt-to-equity ratio had grown to an all time high and the organization was faced with some very tough decisions.

Several new business initiatives were developed (cost cutting, right-sizing, etc.). The Chief Executive committee knew that to be successful at achieving positive financial results (within a very aggressive time-frame), they had to have the participation and commitment of ALL employees... And in order to do this, they knew the initial focus needed to be helping the workforce understand 'the business'.

Challenged with finding a 'program' that could be used at all levels of the organization, the OD group located Andromeda Training (a company out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina). Andromeda offers a family of financial business simulations called
INCOME-OUTCOME.

INCOME-OUTCOME was one of the most successful programs ever offered at Michelin (over 100,000 employees trained, in several different countries). The experiential learning helped employees improve their understanding of business, understand how their actions affected the bottom line, and understand the thinking behind many business related initiatives. This was accomplished through allowing participants to actually run their own business - during the simulation the participants are exposed to a myriad of financial tools, terminology, decision making opportunities and challenges that model their real life business). It is an experience and a visual the participants never forget.

I would be very happy to discuss their programs in greater detail with you - Check out their website for additional information, http://www.income-outcome.com
