Paying for travel and expenses is typical, however paying an hourly wage for travel is not - not to mention for 14 hours! This is what gives consultants like us bad names.

As an example, the Client would pay for the hotel the night before training if he is required to be there in the morning.

I hate to see what else he hits you with in the bill - the dinner tab where HE took YOU out for dinner?

Bottom line - as Ben and traveler stated, the price of the class should be built in to include travel. It is much cleaner, expectations are understood, etc. This sounds like the "get you to commit for one price but then add extra costs after committal". Be cautious.
