I'm revamping our mission statement for our training department.
Thought it would be interesting to hear other mission statements, that might spark some more brainstorming in my head. Anyone have a vision or mission statement for their training department? |

"The mission of the Training & Employee Development (TED) department is to provide timely and structured learning experiences, operational training, and career development programs to all Client Services Division employees to improve and maintain job performance to support the stated corporate business goals."
As much as I dislike mission statements, this helps define what the training department does. It's part of a larger document where we break it down into more specifics, like our role and objectives. |

I saw your request for mission statements and wondered if you received a good response and if you would be willing share the examples. We, too, are working on updating our L & D mission statement. Thanks

I think what may be more important than a mission statement is to set out your learning principles which will guide all development and delivery.
To get at learning principles simply ask the question: what do we believe is true about how people really learn? If the answer is repetitive powerpoints, you've got your work cut out for you. |

What LPC said!
I'd also add that you may want to think this process through like you would a training session i.e. What is the outcome we want? What will be different? How do we get there? etc. For training resources, course materials, trainers notes, training games and many other free training tools, visit: http://www.trainerbubble.com |
