I am relatively new to training and have no formal training on Adult Learning Principles. Does anyone know of any good seminars or "train-the-trainer"?
Pick up a copy of the Creative Training Techniques Handbook by Bob Pike. It contains information on adult learning principles, as well as tips on developing and delivering effective training. I have used it for years. The Bob Pike Group also offers a good "Train the Trainer" seminar. In fact, at the end of September they are having a training conference in MN that will have lots of break outs on training fundamentals, as well as more advanced training topics.
I agree with Frankie. this book, Adult learner by Malcolm Knowles - in which he theorised on the principles of how adults learn. Pretty insightful read. Do pick it up. It was one of the books that I used extensively when working on a dissertation related to elearning and adult learning.
