I am looking to acquire a complete set of templates and tools that can be used for every phase of the course design and development project. For example, templates of a Statement of Work, Scope Document, Design Document, etc.

I have a lot of gaps in my repertoire, and I am trying to fill them in without reinventing the wheel. Does anyone know if such sets exist that are very complete and of professional quality?

Thanks in advance.

Did you find the ISD mentor that you were looking for in August?

You might get ASTD's book, ISD From the Ground Up.

Hi, Kaliko. I found just looked at the book, but cannot discern if the book looks at the complete project management cycle of instructional design. It seems easy to find a book that talks in general about the ADDIE model, but few that offer practical and complete support info from a project management perspective.

Are you familiar with this book, and do you know if it offers the types of templates that I am referring to?

Every course is so unique (or should be) that a generic template will not be all that useful. You need to learn the process first, then attempt to master the analysis, course design and development, implementation, and evaluation. You can earn a graduate degree in ISD - unfortunately, there's just too much involved to expect a few templates will suffice.

I used to work with an organization that had a full tool set for managing training projects based off the Infoline by the same name. We worked with the author, Lisa Toenniges, of ILG to develop those tools. Contact me if you need more information.
