I am putting together a train the trainer package on leading these distance learning options. Is anyone aware of any websites or documents that detail best practices, pitfalls, and tips for leading these types of meetings?

Hi Traveler... You asked for "websites or documents that detail best practices, pitfalls, and tips for leading these types of meetings."
There are many interesting books and articles about working, learning and/or facilitating in a virtual environment. What search strings have you tried that are coming up empty, and where have you searched? I'm happy to help you tweak them so that you get more meaningful results. I usually start with Google and my library to conduct these types of searches for information. |

insynctraining.com has several courses and some free webinars on this subject.
Jennifer Hofmann has written several books you can google. |

You might also look around at examples of recorded webinars for ideas of what works and what doesn't. I found some interesting ideas from a set of webinars on eTrade's site, from which I learned the value of allowing attendees to submit questions throughout the class, and breaking up the presentation using the questions. I also learned how switching off two or more presenters can break up a long lecture.
Sometimes universities or government agencies will have webinars up on display. |
