I am relatively new to training and have no formal training on Adult Learning Principles. Does anyone know of any good seminars or "train-the-trainer"?

Pick up a copy of the Creative Training Techniques Handbook by Bob Pike. It contains information on adult learning principles, as well as tips on developing and delivering effective training. I have used it for years. The Bob Pike Group also offers a good "Train the Trainer" seminar. In fact, at the end of September they are having a training conference in MN that will have lots of break outs on training fundamentals, as well as more advanced training topics.

I would strongly recommend The Accelerated Learning Handbook and the accompanying workshop from Dave Meier.

(I have absolutely no affiliation with Mr. Meier or his organization)

For theory is layman's terms, read 'The Adult Learner' by Malcolm Knowles.

I agree with Frankie. this book, Adult learner by Malcolm Knowles - in which he theorised on the principles of how adults learn. Pretty insightful read. Do pick it up. It was one of the books that I used extensively when working on a dissertation related to elearning and adult learning.
