I am in charge of performing a mandatory training for an Orienation to ISO 9000. This has not been received well by my organization and I know once people read the subject line they are going to moan. Here is the training agenda:

12-12:10 Welcome sign in
12:10-12:30pm Lunch served view ISO Video
12:30-112:40 Questions and review
12:40-12:50 Gameshow Type Quiz
12:50-1pm Award $250 gift certificate for highest score

I think the training will be fun, but I just need a great email invite message that will excite individuals. In addition, I am going to ask that the message come from the CEO. Any suggestions??

I’m assuming there is some reason that your employees must attend the training (Yes, I know that is dangerous). Sell you training by connecting to WWIIFM. What’s in it for me. Connect the content of the class with what they will be able to do with the skills or information after the class. Examples:

ISO-9000 Your Key to a Quality Product!

ISO- 9000 How to Impress your Customer.

ISO-9000 A Safari through the Jungle of Requirements…How to get through without being eaten.

Good Luck!

I would want the email to tell me why it's important for me to attend. I would want to know how my knowing this will help me and help the company. I want to know the link between attending the training, my performance, and reaching company goals.

Ok this is what I came up with and have gotten a great response thus far

Top 10 Reasons to attend the ISO Orientation Training

Have a chance to ACTUALLY take a lunch break for once
Meet Jennifer McLane, I see all these emails from her but I have no idea who she is
Be able to finally understand what my manager is talking about when they say “Look at the ISO Procedure”
Finally know what the acronym stands for instead of thinking it is some new product we launched
Be able to watch TV at lunch (even though it is a training video)
Find out why my manager is killing me with all these requests for ISO
Get a crib sheet to pass the audit
Because it is mandatory and my manager said so
Get a FREE lunch
And last but not least, have a chance to WIN a $250.00 gift certificate

We have had so much stress here with layoffs and ISO that I wanted it to be fun, so at least they would be open minded when they came. I got a GREAT response.
