I am relatively new to the training field (2 years) after having spent 12 years in college administration. I need some help with credentials I should look to acquire to make myself a more "credible" trainer. I know ASTD has several certifications and I recently was qualifed in MBTI. Anyone else have thoughts?

Hi Scott -- If you feel that additional paper credentials will make you more credible, I urge you to contact the International Alliance for Learning and ask them about their certification in accelerated learning. If you want something a bit quicker but equally useful, try Dave Meier's Accelerated Learning workshop (also, this is more geared towards addressing learners in a corporate environment).
Best of luck to you. |

What type of training are you in and what do you mean by "credible"?
The short answer would be to research and network your line of country. These activities will provide the necessary career map. Nero |

To clarify my message a little. I got into training after a 12 year career in college administration. I LOVE what I am doing now. I work for a small growing company that really values training. At the same time I want to make sure I am doing the things that will help me be marketable if I ever decide to leave my current company. The business world is, of course, unpredictable and I want to do what I can to prepare myself.
