Hi Darcee,

I would recommend you prepare these folks in phases. Begin by teaching them how to be a trainer. I would follow that with detailed deliveries by yourself or specific trainers you think demonstrate the proper skills. Give them self study time to learn the contents of a course. Follow that with structured teachback sessions where your new trainers deliver typical content to a group of people like yourself where they can be critiqued in a safe atmosphere to help them improve. Also, consider some investment in them such as Creative Training Techniques sessions. The Bob Pike Group has an interesting TTT Boot Camp. Finally, provide support as they begin. It is always good to do a few co-teaching sessions where the new trainer is in front of a real audience but an experienced instructor is in the room to bail water as needed.

Thanks,
Nick

Would you mind sharing your curriculum that you referenced, i.e.
-Determining Your Training Style
- Preparing and Delivering Training
- Giving and Receiving Feedback
- Making Training Interactive
- Handling difficulties in the classroom

??

Thanks,
Terry

Indeed this is the area we are catering for. Train the trainer courses are usually complemented with training design. Organisations are interested to cut costs and like to train their own staff which lead to train the trainer programs.

In addition you can also obtain ready made training materials and ask your trainers to go through these courses to get up to scratch on a specific topic as quickly as possible.

Indeed this is a great way to save lots of money since you no longer have to obtain expensive external trainers (who have travelling costs) and you don't need to spend a lot of time designing courses and instead can buy training materials instead.

Hope this helps

We have ready made training materials that focus on Train the Trainer. I'm sure it will suit your requirements for this training programme.

Of course if you decide not to use our materials, the course outline will provide you with a clear idea of what type of content is relevant to include.

I hope this helps.
