I deliver technical training for large project rollouts where I need to train several hundred employees, across twenty or thirty separate sessions, in a week or two. I pretty much stick with a combination of e-mail, Outlook invitations, and Excel spreadsheets to track sign-ups and attendance. We currently have no scheduling tool available that would automate this process. Any suggestions on how to automate this process to free me from excessive admin time? How do you schedule this type of training?

At one point we had a developer create a registration tool for us, but eventually we moved to an LMS. Aside from thes 2 options I am not aware of anything else. Be aware that some online conferencing tools, such as Adobe Connect/Breeze come with an LMS.

Web event tools and services can facilitate this.
LMS tools have capabilities for this, but I do caution that some are more complex (and buggy in some cases) than doing it all manually (in fact, our current LMS is so complex we DON'T utilize classroom management aspects of the software). You may want to look at a few LMS systems and event planning software vendors. David Glow dglow@tampabay.rr.com |
