Hi All! I'm trying to locate resources & best practices on training design/development for the fast food (quick service restaurant)and restaurant industries. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, M

I believe that good design and development of learning is good design and development of learning, regardless of the industry. Begin with the end in mind (tip of the hat to Covey) and identify the desired outcomes that link to business goals. For best practices in analysis and linking learning to performance, see High Impact Learning (Brinkerhoff) and Performance Consulting (Robinson & Robinson). For best practices in high-impact learning design and delivery, see The Accelerated Learning Handbook (Meier). Best of luck to you! If you have more specific questions, please ask. This was quite broad, so I'm offering the broad view.

Hello M, I have been in the training biz for 20+ years ... and own a restaurant with my husband for 8 years now... so I have learned alot about training in the restaurant biz. Feel free to contact me. National Restaurant Association offers some off-the-shelf training ... personally I don't see much value in it. There are books written specifically for restaurants ... but again, tend to be quite generic. Best of luck!

I have some customer care training materials and other more generic resources that suit your requirements on my website below. I also agree with FF where good l&d is good l&d regardless of the industry. ---------------------------------- For training resources, energisers, icebreakers, training course materials, trainers notes, training courses, training games and many other free training tools, visit: http://www.trainerbubble.com . Accredited training materials with ICM certification.

Hello again, Thank you all for your thoughtful feedback. Fanatic Facilitator, you're absolutely right; I asked a very broad question, though I liked your answer. Again thanks for the resources and suggestions. M
