Perhaps you would find what you need in an Industrial/Organizational Psych program? Therein is a lot of material on analyzing employee performance, determining training needs, designing the training programs,
evaluating the training results on employee performance and overall organizational impact. Maybe you could take a couple of those I/O classes to fill in the gap? Also, psych departments offer courses in Leadership.

As for teaching an old dog new tricks, there is a lot of brain research going on now that shows that the brain has the capacity to learn throughout life. It's probably more a problem of people not wanting to change their ways.

An MBA degree signifies that the holder has met the minimum criteria for an MBA degree. The MBA degree does not mean the holder will be an effective manager let alone an effective leader. Perhaps well educated but not necessarily successful at either managing or leading.

I think perhaps I was not entirely clear in my original post. I am not looking for this course for myself. Rather - I am dismayed that all management and leadership curriculum does not include some coursework on performance management and the like.

I congratulate you on your quest for the MBA, etc, and in your actions, aren't you actually answering the question. Shouldn't it be that we in the Training/HR/OD field are learning to speak the language of business, not that business leaders are learning to speak the language of HR/Training/OD?

Seems to me that it well-rounded is well-rounded, Pat - regardless of the specific department or division one is interested in entering, there is an overall core of knowledge that a leader/manager should have.
