I am tasked with developing a 4-6 hour class on how to have difficult conversations. I am currently reading Crucial Conversations and have ordered 2 other books on the topic. I am looking for someone who would be willing to share best practices, activities they used during the class, what references you found to be effective in designing the class, course outline to show sequence of facilitation, measurement - did behavior change and if so, how did you measure it. Thank you.

You can get trained as a certified Crucial Conversations trainer via VitalSmarts. They have professionally produced training materials to go with their class.

We use their materials and that has worked very well.

We use "Difficult Conversation" by Doug Stone. It is very readable and there are excellent trainings done through Harvard. http://www.pon.harvard.edu/cat...ourses-and-training/

I share a similar project and am currently evaluating a program from IHHP. You may want to check it out.

You can use ready-made content on handling difficult conversations using off-the-shelf training materials such as Handling Difficult People

It contains many scenarios, case studies, exercises, roleplay and so on that help the delegates to understand how to handle aggressive or intimidating people or just simply handle an emotional situation in an assertive way.

Let me know if you need any further details and I will help you out.
