Having many years of curriculum development and course delivery experience, I am seeking to transition to e-learning. Have embarked on a self study course, taken a FLASH course in a local college and 2 ASTD workshops. Would like to assist an instructional designer to get hands-on experience (unpaid). Anyone out there need some help?

To really find what you want, be specific -- it sounds like you're looking to transition to being a programmer. The bonus is that you already have experience with instructional design so stepping in as a programmer on an e-learning development project gives you an edge.

Instructional design is instructional design. Programming is programming. Most of the time, neither have time (or pay) to do or be responsible for both tasks. (or have the skill to do both)

You either stay an instructional designer who now has an edge because you understand what goes into the system development lifecycle and can better incorporate e-learning as a possible delivery mode, or you become a programmer who has an edge because you know that not all learning should be delivered electronically.
