mfazioli, I'm curious about your comment in reference to Capella. Is it more in reference to PhD training there, or is there an issue with Capella in general?

Linda,

I am currently in my final course (before my final paper) at Capella earning a Masters in Human Resource Management. It has been an outstanding program, that provided the flexibility I needed. In addition, I have enjoyed learning from classmates from all of the United States instead of just in my region!

I would strongly recommend it!

Linda,
I'm currently getting my MS in Organization and Management at Capella University. I thought it would be more difficult than it is to pursue an online education.

My BA was at a regular university and I actually like the online environment better. I'm an older student but I still like learning online, you get a much broader perspective in regards to discussions with people who work at various organizations from Fortune 500 companies to government employees (Federal, State, County & Military). It has been very beneficial to me.

Good luck in whatever decision you make.

Karen

Does anyone have feedback on earning his/her masters via an online University and how it is perceived in the market place?

Do any of you recommend one over the other?
Many thanks,
Linda

Hi Linda,

I obtained my Bachelor degree through Distance learning from Empire State College and I am presently in my Masters program at Capella University and I wouldn't have done this any other way. My schedule is very busy with family and a small in-home business, so I find online learning fits my needs and time slots perfectly. One of the main reasons I chose Capella was the fact that there is no required residency visits (you travel enough now) and I preferred 10 week courses over 5 week courses (Pheonix).

Online learning is becoming more and more wide spread especially for those with hectic schedules.

I am currently a learner in the PhD program for Training and Performance Improvement at Capella and so far, my experience has been positive. The curriculum is great, the instruction has been great and I can say that I have really learned a lot. I think if you are considering a PhD and Capella offers your area of interest, they are worth pursuing.

That is my two cents!
