I also agree that so long as the institution is accredited by the appropriate agencies and regulating bodies, go for it! Employers today are much more accepting of degrees obtained through online coursework than they were in the past, and so long as you select carefully, I do believe a learner can get bang for the buck.
Having taught college-level courses in the past, I do still think that a combination of ILT and CBT are probably the best, and if you can get some ILT in with a degree, so much the better. I didn't notice any discussion in the thread about obtaining distance learning degrees from foreign institutions, though. Don't forget about that option as foreign institutions are recognized by the US Department of Education and other institutions and may well add to the list of options. |

I would suggest Capella. I completed my Bachelor's degree with UOP, and I must say, that while the online experience was convenient, the counselors at UOP are very unorganized. Toward the end of my degree program, they kept on adding more classes that they should have told me about at the start of attendance. I had to take out more loans, and paid more money than I thought I had to.
I have heard great things about Capella. I would not pursue UOP. |
