I need some help in finding current research on web based training as it relates to compression. In short, what does an hour of ILT compress to when put in a WBT format.

Please respond here or email me at

Thanks

These two sources seem to indicate a savings of 30-60%

I have personally found elearning to be from 20-30% faster to 20-30% slower depending on the content and the goals. If there are, for example, computer-related activities involved, accessing assistance may be slower remotely than with ILT. Even with "on-call" phone or web based techs this can slow down a class significantly.

I have also found that while the seat time may be less with some forms of elearning, time from start to finish may be significantly longer (e.g. a four day ILT course might take eight days as elearning).

There are many other benefits to elearning that may make this effeciency issue less significant for some organizations.
