I am thinking about attending the eLearning DevCon 2008conference in July. Has anybody attended before? If so, was it worth the expense? Would you go again? Any other thoughts?

Thanks!

I have attended and presented at DevCon and if you want to get the latest and greatest related to bringing eLearning to your company - this is a great conference. Last year there were some great sessions related to using Web 2.0 to reach your audience. The thing I liked the most is that it provided practical tools and ideas that I could use right away. Some other conferences I have attended in the past were too theory based.
Those are my 2 cents worth. Good luck which ever way you go.

Universally, the folks I have networked with have all said YES.

I agree. Some great folks in that organization- not just the folks leading the conference, but the attendees. Just a group of folks hoping to make everyone perform better- sorta like an ASTD Message Board group Wink

Good luck.

I just got back from DevCon in Salt Lake City, and I found it very worthwhile. Over the 2 1/2 days, I attended 15 different sessions.

The plus is that I was exposed to a lot of good information - the minus is that most was not in-depth due to the 50 minute sessions.

Many of the sessions were offered more than once, so if there were more than two topics I wanted to hear in the same time slot, I could find the second one later on.

The information was very practical, nuts and bolts, and I came away with some new knowledge and skills. Next year, they are talking about more in-depth learning opportunities, which this year were just part of the pre-conference activities.

All meals were included in the cafeteria at the University of Utah. Overall, it was a very good value.
