Graphing Interest in Video: I work at a relatively small firm, so one of the ways we get leverage for training is by videotaping all of our training classes, to then use them as online content (so a teacher gives a lecture once, but then employees can take the class via video over and over again). The concept of leveraging video has worked well with us here as our headcount has been growing exponentially. We have over a couple of thousand of video and audio clips that new hires and tenured employees are currently using for onboarding and training.

I’m interested in getting some sort of tool that would enable employees to rate video as they watch it- this would help my team to understand which segments/points in in a video are the most effective (and possibly lead us to editing, etc). I saw a tool on the Internet recently (Viddler)- that allows people to watch a video and tag the video as they watch it. You can then search for tags and know when to jump to a certain segment. Ideally, what I would like is some sort of sliding interest bar where an employee could be watching a video and rate it on a scale 1 – 5 and then we could look at a conglomerate rating and know at what point (and therefore what content) is the most effective.
