Hello
Can anyone recommend any particular piece of software that can be used to create my own e-learning?
I am looking for something that will take screen shots, allow interactivity by asking trainees to click on certain areas, ask questions, and present them with text to read etc.
If anyone has any good (or bad!) experiences to share I would be pleased to hear them!

Lectora Professional Suite at www.trivantis.com will do all you want fairly easily. However, I might be tempted to just get Lectora (not the Suite) and get SnagIt. SnagIt has better screen capture capabilities.

Adobe Captivate is one option. Articulate Presenter is another.

I haven't used Camptasia, but it is another tool to look at.

There are many great tools. But first define what you are trying to accomplsih and what you are starting with. Also how important is "flashy looking" etc. I use many different tools, and it depends on what I am trying to accomplish. A quick and dirty to meet an immediate need for a handful is approached differently than meeting a long term need for 10,000's. And know the audience is important. Going to echo scase- many many tools, all with unique purposes which may or may not be a good fit with our business.

Earlier in the elearning post, there was a list of free options, and I also recommend Jane Hart's blog on 25 free tools (rated by a collection of training professionals). However, the learning curve and support are slightly more of a challenge than most vendor-based products, so your internal capability and risk adversion may be key considerations. And, as noted, not one size will fit all.
