Social Learning seems to be an exciting way to advance learning. However based on my personal investigation it appears as if many have actually used Social Learning and got the kind of results hoped for. It also appears because most have simply “built it and hoped that they would come”. And I believe that Social Learning requires thought, planning and good old Instructional System Design. But apparently this is such a new topic that few have a lot of experience. So I have started a discussion group on Linked in titled “a group for those who would like to use Social Learning effectively “ to discuss, explore and help each other use Social Learning more effectively.
