All,
I was wondering if any of you support/work in banking/financial services firms? I am trying to make a case at my organization for certain enterprise 2.0 tools (social bookmarking, virtual classrooms, etc.) and I would love to have some case studies or lists of companies similar to my own who have successfully embraced web 2.0 in training, the products they have used, etc. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks |

Here are some links that might help you, although they do not seem to be in banking:
wiki as an intranet Wiki and social networking And here's a blog from someone at Honeywell which uses Web 2.0 within the company. I saw him speak at a conference and he showed how effective Web 2.0 has been at Honeywell. Note the podcast at the very end. I have not listened to it yet, but it looks interesting. Rich Hoeg blog Lastly, here is a company that lets you create Web 2.0 behind the firewall somewhat. ConnectBeam I wish I could tell you that my own company has implemented Web 2.0 yet, but I have not yet convinced them. Good luck. scott |

I work with a retail sales organization and I am working on setting up a Wiki through MediaWiki.
We currently have several manuals posted in several areas of our intranet and it can be difficult for employees to find an answer in a pinch because they have to find the manual then they have to scroll through it to find their answer. The Wiki will provide easy access to frequently asked questions on a variety of topics. Not only will the answers be easier to find but the content will be more valuable because of employees ability to contribute. Although we work in different industries I am sure your workforce needs answers just like my team of salespeople do. You are going to have a hard time finding examples specific to your industry. I would recommend looking at examples from all industries and think about how their examples can be applied in your organization. A great resource and the guy that got me motivated to get a Wiki going is Tony Karrer. The link below will take you to a series of his postings about web 2.0. Web 2.0 Posts |
