I have mixed feelings about posting pricing: Many vendors don't publish pricing and provide it only upon request. Yet, I know how frustrating that is when researching and evaluating products.
That said, SmartBuilder pricing depends on the type of license (author, reviewer, etc.) and whether you contract for software as a service (SaaS) or purchase self-hosted licenses and the server software. SaaS author licenses are around $2500 each.

Hi Zoe, Thanks for your reply. I wanted to check in and see you your experience has been going with SmartBuilder. The product looks really great, but you are the only person I have been able to find who is using it. Thanks!

Hi, I have nothing to gain either from this but I had a trial of SmartBuilder (SB) when I was conducting R&D for my company for authoring tools and I LOVED it as well. It's not limited like Rapid Intake's FlashForm (FF), now called ProForm. Also, the Customer Support was amazing. We actually ended up purchasing FF instead because our programmer had invested too much time learning FF, but I would highly recommend SmartBuilder over FF any day. BTW, I'm not a programmer but with SB I was able to create ANY interaction fairly easily. I was not able to say the same about FF. [Something to consider: if you are planning on non-programmers using this, programmers who love FF may be worried that the ease of use of SB opens creating amazing interactions to just about everyone, thereby threatening the programmer's job security.] I wouldn't say FF is a bad product, just not designed for non-programmers. Also to consider: just because FF has been around longer (larger user community) and probably has more market share, it doesn't mean FF is better. As a side note, Rapid Intake's "new" product Unison boasts the same functionality as FF/ProForm but on the web - this is somethign that SB has had for YEARS! I also spoke with someone during my research who had build courses in FF for his company and then the company purchased SB and he was so happy that it was so quick and easy to rebuild (and upgrade) numerous courses with ease, something he would not have been able to do with FF. Hope this was helpful. Good luck! quote: Originally posted by Nola: Has anyone had any experience using the SmartBuilder authoring tool? I am considering purchasing it but haven't been able to find any user reviews. I currently use Articulate and Captivate, but I'm looking for more flexiblilty in developing interactions.
