Like all organizations, my team is strapped for training budget. One of the "non-traditional" ideas we are investigating is the use of wikis to provide product training content and "ask an expert" functionality to our students.

Does anyone currently use Sharepoint or wikis to provide product knowledge? Has anyone found a good template for designing a wiki page? Is anyone willing to share their wiki pages with me?

My company has not used this idea yet for product training, so I can't share pages, but I have used wikis in a few different capacities and am able to recommend some tools. If it's not important that your wiki be within the company's intranet, you could consider using a ready-made solution such as pbwiki. That's a free-to-cheap solution depending on your needs. Here are prices: http://pbwiki.com/pricing.wiki

If your needs are more extensive or if you want everything to be inside your LAN, I would recommend Confluence (which my company uses). Here are prices: http://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/pricing.jsp
