We are exploring secure computerized exams (for Medical School students) to replace or at least complement paper and pencil or bubble-sheet exams. I'm looking for feedback or suggestions from anyone who has made this transition.

The first vendor we are looking at is ExamSoft. I'd love to hear back from anyone who may have had experience with them (and/or with any of their competitors).

Thank You.

p.s. - Not sure how to post this on a more general discussion board (it doesn't seem to fit perfectly into any of these) so feel free to suggest other environments to post in. Heading to LinkedIn next.

Hi Jana

We've been delivering high-stakes online exams across all four years of our medical school curriculum for the past six years. We use our Learning Management System (Blackboard) for the exam delivery and SecurExam Browser for the security. We don't have a testing center -- we give the students tablet computers and use those for exams, too. With thousands of exams under our belt, the system seems to work well.
I'd be happy to share more of our experiences if you'd be interested.

Hi, Big Grin I haven't used Examsoft, but i found there is the discussion about it:
http://www.macintouch.com/examsoft.html
Hope it can help you.

I think you can try this quiz maker called QuizCreator. It is worth trying, and you can experience it by yourself. It also has the Quiz Management System which will help users analyze and report results.

If you are interested, you can try it. Of course, the final decision depends on yourself. But i think it will satisfy you. ^_^
