Hi Karen,
I used the EKP learning management system from NetDimensions for many years. It's rock solid and could handle 1,000 users running off a desktop PC. Also check out Moodle, an 'open source' lms by way of comparison. Methods and tools for integrating the EKP lms with other systems are available. No doubt Moodle has similar features. It's wise to get users involved in the evaluation and selection process. Look for opportunities to improve the performance of marketing and sales teams, customers, suppliers and partners. Incremental improvements in these areas could/should provide significant returns in a short time. niall.rigby@gmail.com |

1. For great industry data, look at the Elearning Guild 360 study on LMS systems- probably the best research done on the topic.
2. I have run systems ranging from enterprise LMS systems for over 10,000 ees to freeware Moodle portals for small businesses. The key is finding a fit- determine your needs, then the tool (bounce tool capability strongly against your requirements, grade firmly). 3. I was quoted in the Elearning Guild study for noting this, but I can't stress the importance of a trial enough. Test drive, measure real results. Any questions, please feel free to contact me. Check out www.intellium.com - they have a hosted LMS that has many of the features of large LMS solutions, but is priced very aggressively for mid-market companies.

Karen,
At Canon USA, we just implemented an LMS--the vendor was Plateau. It is working well. I agree with Czrrin that you don't want to do double work and it's important to grow with the needs of your company with the LMS. Vince Zaniewski |
