We have a course that is required for all employees. It seems about 1 out of 100 times a person who takes the course and completes does not show up in the LMS as having completed it.
What is the accepted failure rate of this type if any? Sr. Learning Consultant and ID LandAmerica University |

Assuming that it is truly a bug in the LMS and not a process/user issue, that is completely unacceptable in my opinion. I would not tolerate ANY failure of that nature. |

How about we assume no bugs in either course or LMS?

In my opinion it depends on the network infrastructure and the content interopterability standard you are using. For example, if you have a medium to complex network environment and you are using the AICC standard, a 1 in 100 failure rate could be considered world-class. However, if you are using SCORM and have a simple to medium network environment it might not be.
Overall I think in the real-world, a 1 out of 100 error rate is acceptable considering our networks are getting more and more complex (with multiple servers, firewalls, proxies, etc.), and the "standards" our courses must use to communication without our LMSs are less than ideal. |
