Hello, I am evaluating several LMS suites and would like to see if anyone has anything good/bad/indifferent to say about them. The ones on my short list are:
Simpli Digi Elogic Syberworks Absorb Xerco Ziiva Prosperity This was pared down from 20 other systems. Thanks for any input |

I am not familiar with any of the vendors on your list. FYI: In case it should make your list, based on personal experience I would recommend you stay far, far away from Websoft KnowledgeBridge.

Mark, I have an unqualified review (my own work)of LMS's and a list of features and functions that I can share. Also I know of 3 people who make it thier bsuiness to review and help with LMS/LCMS selections. I could put you in touch with them. If any of this might be helpful email me at scase20@juno.com. Happy to share what I have.. steve

Hi
Why not look at Moodle, it is used by over 25% of US small and medium sized companies. It is open source and licence free. Have a look at our review at http://www.kineo.co.uk/open-source-tools/moodle---your-free-lms.html You can also have a look at a Moodle demo at http://www.kineolearning.com/demo Good luck Steve |

Mark:
Just attended CU Week in Orlando, and "how to pick and LMS" was a major topic on most people's minds. The key thing everyone agreed upon- define your needs/requirements FIRM, and bounce LMS vendors off of that (too many folks had fuzzy requirements and got derailed in presentation of features). Of the list you present, I have only seen Prosperity demo'd. Can certainly offer my opinion on it and other tools I have seen (but after being through several major implementations, I can tell you the goodness or badness of an LMS is really more about fit with the company's processes vs features of a system). Not trying to defend vendors, but I can tell you that more than 50% of the issues I've seen with implementations is folks letting vendor features shape the project over business needs. I also strongly recommend: 1. Trial period- you test drive your car before you buy- and most LMS's are actually more expensive 2. "Bounce clause"- I have to than a former University in New England I worked for that gave me this wisdom, but firmly define a time period for when the LMS solution will show positive trends to ROI or you will "uninstall" and recover funds (a bit tricky, but good lawyers get it done).
