I am comparing some high end content for a pharmaceutical company, and I wanted to see what you, as industry professionals, have seen that really took your breath away. I'm talking simulations, gaming, high quality video, animation & interactivity. Let's forget about bandwidth limitations and "proper" instructional design for a minute, and just explore what's possible.

Thank you,

After all these years, I still have yet to see anything that has made me say "wow - this is totally awesome" ... *except* for the learning programs I've seen for *children*

You wanna know why that's possible? Because the companies that create those programs have people who actually know what they're doing. They don't think that you can just take Captivate and an SME and there you have it. They don't think you can just take a person who has taught a class, hand them PowerPoint and *poof* e-learning.

The reason there is no wow in the adult learning e-learning arena is *because* people ignore the things you want us to "forget about" in this discussion.

What have you seen, Sheldon?? I, like SSFN, am still looking. They have to be out there, though.

I have seen great Flash-based learning games, 3D VR surgical simulations, etc. The Dept of Defense has some excellent simulations for warfare, and I wouldn't doubt it if that's where most of the FPS (first person shooter) video gaming technology came from. Besides amazing technology, I enjoy courses that utilize engaging interactivity, even if the graphics are simple. My learning styles skew toward kynesthetic, and that's just my preference. But I want to know what else is out there, and what do other people find educational and entertaining? SSFN has indicated children's games. Thanks!
