We are looking to purchase an LMS to be implemented in a retail store environment.

I am curious to know which Learning Management Systems are used by big retailers? Of interest would be Wal-mart, Target, Best Buy, Federated Stores, etc.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Chris S,

I can't answer for the ones you mentioned. However, Sears; Linen 'N' Things; Nine West; Sound Advice; QVC and the a few others are using Learn.com for their LMS. Take a look at the website www.learn.com.

Best Buy and others use Saba. Take a look at http://www.saba.com/customers/customers_by_industries/index.htm

Having worked with various LMS's, including Saba, I can say that the ones mentioned are not specific to retail. Saba, in particular, is made as generic as possible in order to accomodate the most customer and industry situations as possible.

Generally, the LMS will have little to do with your industry; rather the content (courses) will have everything to do with it.

If you could tell us a little more about your goals, perhaps we could see if there is a turnkey package (with retail courses and a packaged LMS) worth checking out.

Thanks for everyone's input.

I agree that Learning Management Systems are not industry specific, however our CAO (who is paying for the LMS)wants to know what other retailers are using. I want to tell him, and then move on with the LMS we have selected.

Thanks

CS
