Does anyone know if it is legal to use images found on Microsoft's clip art website in e-Learning courses? I've read the legalese (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/tou.aspx), but I am not clear on the answer.
Or, do you know of any other websites that contain free and royalty-free images for use in e-Learning? Any help is appreciated! |

Without looking into the specifics, I would say if you're using it for educational purposes (i.e. elementary/secondary/higher ed/free education), then it would be okay, but if you're using it for corporate training I doubt it.
Sorry for rendering an opinion without solid facts, but hopefully this will stir up some other responses. Sheldon Murphy Solid State Learning www.sslearn.com |

I can't say definitively that I have the right answer, but my understanding is that if you aren't selling it, you can use it. So you wouldn't be able to use it in an e-Learning course that you are selling to customers, but you could use it in an internal e-Learning course.

Thanks for the responses! In my case, it would be for internal training. I am not selling the courses, just providing them to our employees.
If anyone else has suggestions for other clip art/photography sites, please let me know. Thanks! |

nice library, many royalty-free, and those with royalties are generally reasonably priced. HTH CM |
